Trick-or-Treat Event – Sign Up Your Office Today

Student Government is underway in planning the annual Trick-or-Treat event for our students on the Toledo-area Campus on Tuesday, October 30 at 11 a.m.- 2p.m.  As an outcome to the event, we hope to get students engaged on campus and become familiarized with campus offices and services.  During the event, students are encouraged to go trick or treating in participating campus offices and each participating campus office is encouraged to hand out candy, information about their offices, decorate their office, and dress up in costume.

For students who participate in trick or treating, Student Government will be providing prizes for visiting offices!  New for this year, students will have a chance to win $5 gift cards to various places including McDonalds, Starbucks, Speedway, etc.  Each office will receive 4 star stickers to place on your candy, and 4 claim tickets to give to winning students.  When a student draws a piece of candy with a star, they are a winner and the office will give them a claim ticket to claim their prize at the Student Life Office in College Hall 158! Winning students will get to select a gift card type on a first come first served basis. Prizes must be claimed within one week, by Tuesday, November 6. Student Government will provide offices with trick or treating bags for students, a list of participating campus offices, star stickers, and prize tickets. These items will be delivered to your office on the Friday or Monday before the event.

Student Government will also be giving out prizes for participating offices and employees!  Student Government will be judging best decorated office, best employee costume and best overall office theme.  The employee to win best costume will win a $50 gift card and for the offices that win best decorated and best theme will also win a $50 gift card to use as the office wishes (coffee and donuts, pizza party, new coffee maker, etc.).  Judging will take place the day of the event (October 30) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

If your office is interested in participating, please RSVP to me (Jamey Katzner at james_katzner@owens.edu) by Friday, October 19.  Please provide your office building and room number and a contact person for the event.

While we ask that each participating office provide candy to hand out, if this is an area of concern or strain for any office/employee, please let me know in your RSVP and Student Government will be able to provide candy in these instances.  Additionally, Student Government will have “back up” candy on hand if your office runs out before the end of the event.
