Double the Impact up to $10,000 on November 27!

Tuesday, November 20th, 2018

The Owens Community College Foundation and Alumni Association invite you to make a gift on November 27, 2018 in support the endowed student emergency assistance fund. Thanks to the generosity of a donor, donations made during this 24-hour event will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 to support this fund.

#GivingTuesday is a global movement to encourage charitable giving on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Owens Foundation and Alumni Association strive to help students by breaking down barriers and providing continued access to affordable education so students succeed.

With your help, donations will be matched 1:1 up to $10,000!  In addition, Owens will be eligible for a chance to receive a $5,000 grant from the Toledo Community Foundation and $500 matching gifts from the Toledo and Findlay Hancock County Community Foundations.

Only gifts received on Nov. 27 will count toward the matching gift incentives. Each gift is important and no gift is too small!  When one person’s gift is added to another’s, our collective giving turns into significant support for our students.

Join us in supporting the student emergency assistance fund on November 27 from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Will you join employees and friends of Owens on November 27 and make a donation?

#GivingTuesday or Employee Appeal?

This 24-hour giving event is one “appeal” within the overall Annual Giving Campaign.  If you donate on #GivingTuesday then your gift will count toward your overall annual giving contributions.  The Foundation will be sending out the “employee appeal” in early December where employees may donate via payroll deduction.

Please consider the Owens Foundation and the Student Emergency Assistance Fund on November 27 – even if it is just a few dollars.  Remember, donations will be doubled up to $10,000!

Please contact the Foundation in the Office of Fund Development with any questions at (567) 661-7100 or email Jennifer_fehnrich@owens.edu.  The Office is located on the 2nd Floor in Administration Hall.

Faculty Blackboard Training Sessions

Wednesday, November 14th, 2018

The Office of e-Learning will be providing two on-campus sessions of an Intermediate Skills Blackboard workshop on November 14 and 15.

  • This workshop will provide instructors the opportunity to expand on their basic skills and usage of Blackboard Learn to create a more interactive and appealing online experience for their classroom.
