Student Enrollment for Spring 2019 Classes

KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE COLLEGE FROM INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH

Owens’ preliminary, “14th day”, headcount for Spring 2019 is 8,712. This number is up 3.0% from the same point in time last year and surpasses the strategic enrollment target goal of 7,975 for Spring Semester. This target was developed last year taking into effect high school market data, unemployment figures, and other enrollment trends. The college’s 2018-2019 budget was built taking in to account these targets. Enrollment increased over last spring for the following groups of students: Transfer-in, Guest, and Union/Non-Matriculating.

Registrations for College Credit Plus and Workforce (Union/Non-Matriculating) students typically continue to be added throughout the semester. As such, final enrollment numbers will not be available until approximately 30 days after the end of the spring term. For example, 14th day headcount for Fall 2018 was 7,748 and final (end of term) enrollment reported to the Ohio Department of Higher Education was 9,469. For Spring 2018, 14th day headcount was 8,458 and end of term enrollment was 10,847.
